Thanks for picking up my Tweet. I have tried for a number of months to get a response on a question that came out of a teleseminar/podcast with one of your team in the US – Kay Luo – who offered a free professional membership to LinkedIn to people who were journalists and had a completed profile. I contacted her at the time as per the recommendation on the call but heard nothing back. See the LinkedIn ticket numbers in the latter note below.
I followed up and as I heard nothing I tried to contact someone in the European office.
For information I write speak and teach about digital marketing and social media and was the first person in Ireland delivering workshops about using LinkedIn for business and job search (at the current time I am also the only person doing LinkedIn specific workshops in Ireland) – I cover LinkedIn in my programmes for the Irish Internet Association and the Digital Marketing Institute so am an advocate for your service.
My articles are also published in trade joirnals and the regular press here and also I am often a source for content for authors, journalists and reporters.
You can check out my profile on my website for full details of my background at www.krishnadeprofile.com
In fact if there were a contact in Europe who was open to connecting with me that would be great – I have made contact and am in regular communication with the Facebook Europe team and I find it is helpful to be able to refer businesses to them especially for sales opportunities.
Here are my 2 most recent messages sent to your European team (am based in Ireland).
I would be grateful if you could help me resolve the outstanding question I raised with Kay in terms of the request for the pro membership.

I don’t believe we have not met before, so I hope you do not mind me reaching out.I am based in Ireland and commentate, write and speak about digital marketing, social media, personal branding and online reputation – you can find details on my profile. I see you are collaborating with David Hurst and speaking at the Onrec conference soon – I too spoke at it a couple of years ago about personal branding online. I would be delighted if you might be interested in connecting and thought I would check with you before sending an invitation. I also wonder if you could advise me about who to speak to about an outstanding query I have had – I have sent messages to LinkedIn personnel direct and the the customer help desk a total of 4 times since February 2009 and my query remains unanswered. I don’t want to burden you with my question but I really would like the issue outstanding to be resolved. It is related to an offer that one of your colleagues Kay Luo of your PR team in the US made in a webinar in terms of access to the premium version of LinkedIn at no cost to journalists who have a 100 percent completed profile. I believe I qualify for this as I write for a number of online and offline publications here in Ireland and wondered if my account could be upgraded in accordance with the offer made by Kay. Many thanks for your assistance with this matter. I do hope you might connect and I look forward to hearing from you. Regards Krishna De Simon Kelly – message sent in April via LinkedIn Simon I hope you don’t mind me contacting you – I came across your name as I noticed you are speaking at the Onrec conference this year (I spoke at it a couple of years ago). I have tried several times to get in contact with your colleague Kay Luo in the US LinkedIn team and sent a message via LinkedIn on the 7 February and followed up on the 17 February – ticket numbers 090217-001216 and 090314-000224. I have also sent her a message direct but perhaps she is rather busy and has not been able to answer the question. So I wondered if you could help and perhaps refer my message to someone who could assist me? Kay was in an interview with Sree Sreenivasan about LinkedIn which was terrific. She mentioned on the audio that if we are ‘journalists’ and have a 100 percent completed profile that you would provide us with a very generous offer of a free upgrade. = = > My profile is at http://www.linkedin.com/in/krishnade I write for a number of online and offline publications here in Ireland, including the publication for the Marketing Institute of Ireland. I also cover LinkedIn in my podcasts and workshops about social media (in fact I have a podcast scheduled on LinkedIn today). I would really appreciate it if you could perhaps pass my request to someone who can assist me – perhaps in the European team. Many thanks. Krishna De
