Podcasting Tip - remember your search words when submitting your podcast to iTunes
Are you podcasting or planning to podcast in 2011? Podcasting has never been so easy with the launch of tools in the recent years where you can podcast live from your mobile device with platforms like AudioBoo, Cinch and iPadio.
At BlogWorld Expo 2010,Edison Research presented data on podcasting - this presentation by Edison Research VP of Strategy Tom Webster explores five years of data on podcast and downloadable media consumption habits.
This relatively new feature from Audioboo has immense opportunities - creating streams of user generated content. How could you think about using streams of content from your community?
The Guardian case stuy I mention in my podcast is here.
Post your thoughts and ideas here or at my Facebook Marketing Mentor page.
Mashable had an article recently about how to send audio messages to Twitter.
On reading the article I was compelled to leave a comment as I didn't think the author had done justice to the full capabilities of Audioboo. You can listen to my podcast about this above - of course using Audioboo. Here is what I said in my comments:
I know your article covers tools where you don't need a phone so I would also suggest exploring http://www.ipadio.com. ('If it is about only sending your audio to Twitter, iPhone users may also want to check out http://www.tweetmic.com.)
As someone who produces podcasts and uses online audio a lot it's great to see that the recording and publishing of content is becoming easier. I have used many different services including Utterli which was a great tool but unfortunately is no more.I think a fundamental difference for http://www.Audioboo.fm is that they have enabled cross posting to Twitter, Facebook (including Facebook Pages), Posterous, FriendFeed and Tumblr at the moment. You can take the embed code and add it to your website and your blog.Audioboo.fm is available for the Android and the iPhone and you could also upload content direct. Each time you post content you also have the opportunity to tag it with key words and add an image. You can also send your podcasts to iTunes and encourage your community to subscribe to your content there. With some of the users of Audioboo including the BBC, the Guardian Newspaper, Audioboo is certainly worth checking out if you want to add an audio message to your Tweets."
But are here are two things I did not mention:
1. If you add Twitter handle of someone in the title of your Audioboo it will mention that person in the Tweet that you syndicate to Twitter - a great way to notify them that they are mentioned in your podcast2. There is an early release of a widget for adding to your Audioboo stream to your blog or website. See my own stream below.
What is your preferred too for sharing audio to Twitter?

The question for the group was what were their thoughts on social media marketing - in just one word.
Here is their feedback.

I love it - blogging and podcasting about the weather!
The Guardian in the UK has a live blog about the weather and transport called the Big Freeze Live Blog - and they also include AudioBoo's.
Here you can listen to Martin Wainwright the Guardian's northern editor talking about the side roads being impassable and there being no chance of gritting.
AudioBoo.fm and iPadio.com are definitely in my top list of podcasting applications at the moment and a way of getting a message out quickly to your audience.
What could you use them for? Or are you already using iPadio.com and AudioBoo.fm
Today I am testing out IPadio.com - an application that you can use to set up your own podcasts - both online and using your iPhone.
I discuss in this short audio recorded on my iPhone some of the great features of Ipadio.com. One feature however that did not work for me was the automatic cross posting to my account here on Posterous - so instead I took the embed code to add it here.
Are you using Ipadio.com? What tips do you have for podcasting from the road with your iPhone?
Find my profile and podcasts on Ipadio here.

I am on a quest to discover iPhone applications that my friends and colleagues find boost their productivity, help them with their job or are just great fun.
Listen in to my conversations with my good friend Brian O'Malley who shared some really helpful tips and his favourite iPhone apps.
What apps do you recommend. Oh and again this is being recorded with one of my favourite apps of the moment allowing me to podcast from the road - Audioboo.com - if you have missed any of my recent Audiboo's you can find them here. And you can subscribe to them in iTunes.
