If you have been following my series of articles covering case studies of organisations using Google Hangouts On Air you will know that earlier this year Google introduced the Showcase App which enables hosts to feature content both during and after a live show.
This is a feature that many organisations who are looking to promote content including products and services for sale can use – or what you might consider ‘seecommerce’ or social commerce. The latest large organisation to put it to work was Tiffany and Co who hosted their first Google Hangout On Air this week.
The Hangout On Air featured the Tiffany T collection and their design director Francesca Amfitheatrof. They also used three different camera angles for the event that looked to be hosted in a studio and encouraged people to post questions in advance using a hashtag #ShopTheHangout.
At the end of the Hangout On Air they also had a call to action – you will have seen how I use these in my Visual Content Marketing Show Hangouts here.
If you would like to watch the HOA you can see it on YouTube or watch the video below.
I should add that many people used to watching Google Hangouts on Air on Google Plus do not enjoy watching events using the Showcase App due to th user experience – however it is a great way to highlight links you want people to explore during and after an event including to your online store.
If you have questions about hosting Google Hangouts On Air you can book a consultation with me through Google Helpouts. Or contact me for in-house training and consulting.
