For over a decade I have been writing and educating professionals about how to express your personal brand online and many times I find people are not ready to have a personal blog or website.
Since I originally started sharing tips on the topic, resources are so much easier to find to host content from free blogs to social networks, from podcasting platforms to publishing tools offered professional social networks.
With the range of ways it has never been more important to have a way of making it easy for people to see the variety of content that you may be publishing online.
One such hub site is About.me – I think I have had my About.me page almost from the time it first launched. It’s not a tool I refer people to much, but I use it when working with students and young professionals and also with people who do not have or want a personal website.
But when I came across Wiseintro (from the same people who created Wisestamp) I realised it is like About.me but on sterioids!
I should point out that About.me made some changes to their platform earlier this year with the introduction of Discover Pages, a new way for you to find like-minded people from all around the globe through indicating your interests on your profile – click on the hashtag and you will find others with that same interest.
But back to Wiseintro, I love the fact you can highly customise your profile using the paid edition which is usually 7 usd a month for a 12 months contract.
At the time of writing this article, Wiseintro has an offer in place for lifetime access for 25 usd. If you decide to purchase through my link while the time limited offer is in place then I will receive reward points as recognition of my referral.
When customising your Wiseintro landing page, you can use an image or a video as the background of the landing page – they have a number of templates you can use on the site. You can even bring in your latest Facebook posts from your profile or a page, your latest Tweets and even a YouTube video – the list is endless.
You can customise the style of your avatar and even change the colour and style of your social icons.
I am so impressed I am thinking of getting Wiseintro for members of my family!
In the screen shots below I share with you some of the customisation features in the Wiseintro paid service.
After you create your account for Wiseinto you will have the opportunity to add your avatar and a description – you can also add your social media channels to your WiseIntro landing page – though I noticed that Snapchat is missing from the list of popular social networkds.
However, unlike About.me, Wiseintro does not only give you the option to add icons and links to your social networks but you can make it more interactive through the integration of additional contentsuch as including Facebook profile or page posts into your Wiseintro landing page.
With the Wiseintro pro landing page you can add call to actions to your profile – there are many choices or you can create your own text for your call to action button as I did for my profile.
In addition to call to action buttons, you can promote specific links on your Wiseintro landing page. For example I added recommended resources to my page with links to the resources online. You can reorder the links and select the style of bullet points to help people navigate your links.
Many people appreciate sharing quote – you will see this on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter – so Wiseintro allows you to personalise your landing page with quotes – I created a quote from myself for my page.
The number of options for content that you can connect to your Wiseintro landing page is terrific including adding custom HTML, adding podcast files through SoundCloud or YouTube, and even adding your latest articles from your blog.
Once you have updated your landing page you can decide if you want your Wiseintro landing page to appear in search results.
Remember to review your Wiseintro personal profile before you click to publish it online – you will see a button at the top that invites you to preview your landing page.
When you have created your personal landing page to demonstrate your expertise with Wiseintro you can easily go back to update it, from your bio to avatar to the links and call to actions you are promoting.
My only problem at the moment with Wiseintro is that when I check my published profile, it is not rendering quite as it shows in the preview mode – but I have a call out to support and I hope that the bug I have identified will be able to be corrected.
I would also like to see Snapchat integrated into the social media icons and the ability to move some of the widgets from the right hand side bar to under the bio, plus the ability to add clickable links to the bio.
Remember there is a limited time offer for Wiseintro as it is a new platform.(sponsored)
This solution may not be right for you if you have a personal website but it is a great landing page for those that want to curate the relevant information about themselves into an easy to create online portfolio. Do let me know if you decide to invest your time in creating a Wiseintro landing page.
