WordCamp Ireland - everyone wants to learn the secret sauce (or source) to making money with WordPress #wcirl
It has been a great weekend at WordCamp Ireland. Despite late night socialising in the real world people are back bright and early for more workshops including how to use BuddyPress, multimedia tips and how to find great themes for your website or blog when using WordPress. One sessions with staning room only was the 'making money with WordPress' by Jason Roe. A few good reminders were:
- focus on a niche
- keep your content dynamic
- revenue generation with banner and display advertising, adsense, sponsorship, pay per post, selling links, directory listings, subscription based models, donations. Jason also recommended that you consider using a WordPress plug in to manage rotating ads on your site and he also referenced SkimLinks, CafePress, PHPBayPro plugin. As a side note - if you are using a business blog use advertising on your blog with care so not to distract people from your core services and products.
