Back in July it was announced that Facebook was testing a scrolling video player – the feature now seems to be widely available and in this article we will demonstrate how it works.
When you come across a video you want to watch you will be able to click on it and in the top right you will see a small square box – clcik on that and then the video will float on the news feed.
This means that you can continue to scroll and engage in the news feed without having to wait for the video to end – a handy feature given that some people are posing longer video content such as repurposing Blab or Periscope live streams and posting them on their Facebook page.
You can also re-position the floating video anywhere on your screen as you can see in this animated gif.
If you prefer you can watch this short video tutorial on YouTube.
Make sure that you tell your followers about your feature if you are posting longer video on Facebook so they will know they can multi task when watching your video content.
