Some time ago in a live stream with Periscope developers they hinted that they may change the hearts to different symbols in the future – and we see the first example if this with Halloween.
You may have noticed a number of live streams with the hashtag #Halloween in the title – and that is because by adding the hashtag, some of the hearts that people give by tapping on the screen during the live stream become bats.
You can see an example in the screen shot from an Arkon live stream. By the way if you are looking for a tripod to use in your live streams, I highly recommend the Arkon series – I reference the one I use on a daily basis in my list of video marketing resources.
It will be interesting to see what other icons they enable in the forthcoming months – perhaps for the Holidays, for causes and even perhaps as a paid feature for certain brand channels.
