When I was growing up before my Mum invested in a ‘stand alone freezer’ it was a real treat to have ice lolly (or icepops and popsicles as people tend to call them today). When the new freezer arrived we then enjoyed making our own and it’s someting that my daughters like to do today.
I had never tried using buttermilk to make ice pops until I came across a recipe on Pinterest from my friend Arlene who is based in the US, which was perfect for using the few strawberries we had left in our fridge this week.
We all love strawberry, orange juice and banana smoothies (without the yoghurt) so I expected them to taste delicious as they included strawberries and bananas.
By the way Eli made these all on her own so I should probably have a new recipe series ‘cooking without Mum’s help’!
The recipe makes four large popsicles.
Do check out Arlene’s Pinterest account as she makes some great recipes her own recipes are on her ‘Flour On My Face Board‘.
